My homework about the singer James Blunt:
James Blunt is a British singer and songwriter. He is rich and he is famous all over the world. But he isn't a typical pop star, he is different from other stars. He doesn't like big cities, he doesn't want to meet his fans. He lives alone in a big old house near the sea in Spain. He doesn't have a TV because he doesn't like to watch it. He wears cheap clothes, he does housework and he likes to work in his garden. He usually cleans his house in the morning. Then he makes a fire and sits on the sofa, plays his guitar and sings. He never cooks for lunch, he usually goes shopping to a market in a Spanish village and he usually buys bread, tuna tins or some ham. In the evening he often goes out and meets his friends. They go to a club to have dinner together. After dinner James Blunt comes back home and goes to sleep. He is very happy with his simple life.

This song has made (padarė) James Blunt famous and rich:

My homework :)
The Norwegian town of Hammerfest is near the Arctic Circle. In the winter it is usually light only two or three hours in Hammerfest and in the summer it is never dark. That's why tourists from all over the world like to visit this Norwegian town in the summer. In the summer, people don't often go to bed at night, they prefer to go outside and they have barbecues or they play golf. They never swim in the sea in the summer because the water is cold. The winter isn't very cold in Hammerfest, but it sometimes snows a lot. Then schools and shops are closed, people usually stay inside or they go to see their friends. When the weather is good in the winter, people go outside to ski or to ride snowmobiles. Life in Hammerfest is quiet, the air is fresh, but people leave Hammerfest because winters are too long in there.

Here is your homework for the 21st (twenty first) of March.
You have to do exersices, learn new words and tell few sentences about life in a Lithuanian town :)

Don't forget to leave a comment before you come to the Englisf class: edukacija.psvb.lt/forumas/11-for-meeting...day-classes?start=90

We have an extra meeting on Thursday from 4 PM

1.
Remember English phrases:

2.
Remember new words.
Read, listen to audios 4.9 and 4.17 in NEF Class CDs and repeat!:

3.
Remember pronunciation.
Listen to audio 4.10 in NEF Class CDs and repeat!:

4.
Do the exercises from your Workbook (pages 30-31):

5.
Write about life in Pasvalys or in other Lithuanian town if you want (Vilnius? Palanga? Nida? Anykščiai? Druskininkai? :silly: )
Parašykite apie gyvenimą Pasvalyje ar kitame Lietuvos mieste jei norite.
Answer these questions:
Where is this town? Do a lot of people live there? Do a lot of tourists come there? What people do in the winter? What people do in the summer? Do they do sports? Do they swim? Do they ski? Do they go to a swimming pool? What do people do in their free time? Do they stay at home with their families? Do they go to see their friends?Do they go out? Do they go to the restaurant? Do they go to the cinema? Do they go to the theater? Do you like life in this town?

Life in Druskininkai
a spa hotel - viešbutis - sanatorija; a sanatorium [sanatorijom] - sanatorija; a medicinal bath [medisinal bath] - gydomoji vonia, to recover [rikouve] - atsigauti, pasveikti; along [elong] - palei, išilgai; Snow Arena [snou eri:na] Sniego Arena Druskininkuose; a water park [uo:te pa:k] - vandens parkas; a swimming pool [suiming pu:l] - plaukiojimo baseinas; to ride a slide [tiu raid e slaid] - čiuožti čiuožynėmis.

Druskininkai is a beautiful city in the South of Lithuania. About fourteen thousand [fo:ti:n thauzend - 14000] people live in Druskininkai and a lot of them work in spa hotels, sanatoriums, cafes because the city is famous for its medicinal baths and it has a lot of tourists. People come to Druskininkai to recover and to relax. Winters aren't very cold and summers aren't very hot in Druskininkai. People stay outside a lot of time, they walk in beautiful parks and along the river Nemunas. The city has Snow Arena where people ski in the winter and in the summer. Druskininkai has a water park. It is open in the winter and in the summer. People go to the water park to swim in swimming pools, to have mineral baths and saunas and to ride water slides. Life is nice in Druskininkai but I think it is expensive to stay at a spa hotel in Druskininkai for a Lithuanian worker.
