For British people TEA is any meal in the afternoon or in the evening.

What's for tea? = Kas pietums/ vakarienei ?

Please, write here what you had for lunch or for dinner today.

Let's learn English food words
Let's see what other people eat and maybe make the same dish at our homes?!

Today for dinner I had fried pork liver with celery and boiled potatoes with pumpkin and with beetroot salad on the side.
Yummy! :cheer:

I cut the liver in slices, added a little bit of salt. I fried it on the slow fire for about 15 minutes. At the end I added sliced celery and tomatoes from my garden.
At the same time I boiled four whole potatoes with big slices of pumpkin in one pot.
I grated some beetroot and mixed it with sliced onion, pickled cucumbers and a teaspoon of olive oil.
It was delicious.

A magical recipe for the New Year. :)
Take all twelve months. Wipe well the greed, the egoism, the jealousy. Put in a handful of joy, a spoon of enthusiasm, a few grains of patience, some politeness. Stir it well. At the end put in a lot of love. Decorate it with the most beautiful flower blossoms. Everyday serve it with warm words and a smile.

Today I had home-made yogurt [jogat] with fruit. I loved it. :)
I make my own home-made yogurt. It is very easy:
1. Boil fresh milk. It has to be milk from a local farm, because milk from a shop doesn't do (netinka).
2. Leave the milk to cool down (atvėsti).
3. When the milk is cooled down to around 50 degrees, put a spoon of natural yogurt in it.
It is very important to have the right temperature! If the milk is too hot or too cold, the yogurt is going to taste bad.
4. Mix the milk and yogurt well.
5. Put the container with the milk in a warm dry place and leave it for about six hours.
I usually pour my milk into a three-litre jar. I wrap it (suvynioju) in an old wooly jumper and leave it in the bathroom next to the radiator. It is important to keep the warmth longer.
6. The end! That's it! The yogurt is made! :cheer:

My favourite salad is grated beetroots with carrots and onions fried in tomato sauce. Especially for Christmas we add walnuts and press some lemon juice into the salad.
I had my Christmas beetroot salad on Christmas Eve and on Christmas Day. It was especially good with hot potatoes and fish.
