On the 20th of May the people in the UK celebrated the wedding of Pippa Middleton [pipa midlton] , sister-in-law of the Prince Charles=William. The bride and the groom married in a small church near the country house of the bride. The bride wore a dress worth (verta) twenty thousand pounds! Prince Charles came to the wedding with his family and his brother prince William=Harry. Everyone looked very beautiful.

Today, the 27th of May, is the start of Ramadan for Muslims all over the World. Ramadan is the holy month during which (per kurį) Muslims eat or drink only at night, they pray a lot and they give money, food or clothes to poor poeple. We have few Muslims in Lithuania, but in the UK there are around 1.5 million of them.

The first of June is officially the start of the summer in Lithuania. Or like the British say 'the start of meteorological summer'

It is also the start of the summer break in our English Learning Club 'Pasvalys Library Goes English'.
